On My Needles
So this week I am still spending time knitting Roam. And you know what? It hasn’t exploded, jumped off the needles, or tried to burn my house down. It’s been well-behaved and co-operative. Its decreases have lined up in the right spots. There are purls in the purl spots and knits in the knit spots and I can see arm hole shaping in my very near future. Even more exciting, I can even see other cardigans in my future! Maybe next week I’ll have a finished back to show you.
Between my Pages
I am pleased that I finally finished The Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan. It was a wonderfully engaging read, but not the best book for vacationing so it was briefly put on hold while I was away. For a more in-depth review you can read here.
I’ve moved on to Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. I’m just under a 100 pages into it and so far it seems to be a rather charming tale of a young man trying understand the relationship he had with his grandfather and the complexity of his grandfather’s life. Part coming of age and part adult fairy tale, it is both intriguing and a well written first novel. I am curious to see how it all turns out in the end.

Glad Roam is being well behaved 😉
I really enjoyed that book, as weird as it gets. There’s a sequel due out some time later this year I believe 😉

I’ve had the Miss Peregrine’s novel on my to-read list for a while. I’ll have to see if my library has it.

I’m glad your current knitting project is behaving! (I also love the way you wrote about it, which is making me grin.) And I’ve been meaning to check out Miss Peregrine’s Home, so I’m glad you’re liking it! That nudges it up a few places on my mental queue.

Glad to hear the cardigan is behaving. My projects go in fits and spells. Or maybe I’m projecting now?!

Hmm, interesting! I’ve been meaning to check out that book too (I’m a big fan of Mental Floss, the random trivia website Ransom Riggs used to contribute to all the time). Maybe I’ll have to seek it out a bit more actively 🙂
